We have already had a good number of entries for this year’s annual gold price competition, but with the competition closing on the final day of this month, if you haven’t already entered do get your estimates of the gold price high, low, year-end and average prices for gold in 2022 over to us as soon as possible. If you have already entered this is getting to be your last chance to make any adjustments to your submission before the closing date.
So far entries have been below last year’s averages which is perhaps not surprising given the lacklustre performance of the gold price over the past sixteen months or so. Averages of entries to date are as follows: Gold price high – $2033, Low – $1599, Year end – $1905, Average – 1811.
As we’ve noted in an earlier article as a guide, the experts – as represented by the professional entrants in the London Bullion Market Association’s similar competition (but which doesn’t ask for a year-end price) are predicting as follows: High – $1914. Low – $1529. Average – $1753. Entries in US dollars please.
For your entries, you may cut and paste the form below as a guide (Note – the full tabulation will be published after the competition closing date, but not the email addresses supplied):
As in the past we will be using LBMA gold fixing prices as our yardsticks rather than spot prices which sometimes may be dispute.
